This part of the website, is really more a bunch of links to useful IT information, some of which are produced by me other are just sites i find interesting. There is also some information on things like common internet ports and file extensions, as these are things that people have asked me for information on over the years.

About my blogs.

I produce a number of IT resources on the internet, i have two blogs;
David coxon's IT Blog, this is a general IT blog detailing useful software and utilitize that i come accross in my day to day IT work.
World of IT , this is a more specific blog about current issues in IT, like security, data protection and portability and how changes might affect the world of IT.

I also contibute to several social networking and social bookmarking sites, and have some presentation on Slideshare.

About my IT background .

I have worked in IT management since 1999, prior to that i was Design/Studio Manager for a design company and had responsability for IT and internet within my group.

My role covers all things IT really from Networking and Comms to Server and Desktop Support, Point of Sales Systems, Databases, Audio Visuals, Printers and Copiers, as well as Supply Chain Management, Policy and Practice, Training, Project Management and Internet/Intranet design and development

As I currently work for a leading contemporary Art Gallery, i work with some of today's leading new media and contemporary artists, and often have some very interesting audio visual challenges from installing marine radar's to synching very large video installations.

North East IT Manager Network.

I am a member of the steering committee of the North East It Manager Network. The group was set up in 2007, to provide a support network for IT managers in the North East. We host regular seminars, discussions and networking opportunities to keep IT managers up to date with what is going on in the industry. The North East IT managers network is a part of codeworks, and many of our activities are ran in conjunction with Codeworks events.
